Math
Blue Ridge Elementary is dedicated to providing students with a quality education in mathematics. Using the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, teachers teach the 5 strands of mathematics: Number and Operations, Measurement, Geometry, Data Analysis and Probability, and Algebra.   Classroom teachers in grades K through 5 teach the core math curriculum using McGraw-Hill My Math and McGraw-Hill Glencoe Math.  In addition to an hour of core mathematics instruction, students receive forty-five minutes of leveled intervention or enrichment. To ensure intervention instruction at an appropriate level, the Number Worlds prevention and intervention program is taught to small student intervention groups. Students attending on-level or enrichment math classes are instructed using various challenging and problem based lessons.
